Ubaldo, an ex-military man who now works at a bank in São Paulo, heads northeast after inheriting land from the biological father he never knew: a famous cangaceiro. When Ubaldo is taken hostage during a bank robbery, he escapes death by offering information for a robbery. With Jeremías injured, the gang improvises an escape and seeks refuge in a farmer's house. Dinorah fights off one of the bandits after he attacks the farmer's teenage daughter.
