However, she's not as tuned-up as her creator would have expected. / Arale is enrolled in school, and tries to win over the "tough kids" Akane, Taro, and his little brother Peasuke. Meanwhile, Senbei gets a crush on his creation's homeroom teacher, Midori Yamabuki.

Senbei tests out his newest invention: an alarm clock-shaped time machine called the Time Slipper. On its inaugural voyage, Arale gets lost in ancient Japan. / Arale and friends use the Time Slipper to go back to the days of the dinosaurs, and find a mysterious egg.

Senbei Norimaki, known by his nickname Dr. Slump, a genius yet under-respected inventor and roboticist, creates an android by the name of Arale, and poses her as his little sister. What starts as an experiment in robotics turns into an adventure every day for the residents of Penguin Village, a wacky rural community with several colorful characters interacting with Arale and her creator.
